We are registered to rating dwellings in Canberra under Canberra’s own Class B – Energy Efficiency Building Assessor designation.
This dwelling is about to receive building permit and the Private Certifier requires an Energy Rating to satisfy the requirements of the building code.
The dwelling is compliant – phew! It achieves a NatHERS Star rating of 6.5.
The journey has taken us through some understanding of what is required to meet the code in Canberra. Sometimes there are different methods which can be used for an extension to be acceptable to the Private Certifier. In the case of this dwelling, it was easy enough to achieve compliance because the owners had allowed for a window upgrade as part of the scope of the build of the extension.
